Training

One hour training sessions for each team will be held at Kuringai Hockey Centre on Thursdays between 4.30 - 7.30pm. Normally U9s and U11s train at 4.30, U13s at 5.30 and U15s at 6.30, but final times will be confirmed once we have received registrations, determine team numbers and confirm the availability of our coaches in each age group. The training time for each team will depend on coach availability and the need to maximise occupancy of the turf to minimise costs.

Competitions In Which We Play

North Area Junior Association

This is a mixed competition for boys and girls in the under 11, 13 and 15 age groups. It is the only competition available for junior boys.

A child's age for this competition is determined by their age on January 1 i.e. a child aged 10 on January 1, 2010 is eligible for the under 11 competition. Each age group will consist of between 1 to 3 competition divisions and players/teams will be graded to cater for children of all skill levels.

Matches are played on either Friday evenings or Saturday mornings each week on artificial turf surfaces at KHC, Nth Turramurra; Nth Ryde; Pennant Hills Park or Concord . A Sydney-wide competition will continue for the under 15 division1.

U9 Competition

This is a seven-a-side half field competition for boys and girls. This competition runs throughout school term 2 and has proven to be very popular.

Skills and training sessions are normally held at Kuringai High School on Thursday afternoons. Games are held on Friday afternoons on artificial turf at Pennant Hills at 5.30pm.

Hockey sticks can be provided, if required. A child's age for this competition is determined by their age on January 1, i.e. a child aged 8 or under on January 1, 2009 is eligible for the under 9 competition.

U17 Competition

In 2010 our under 17 boys will again combine with Sydney Uni  to play in a Sydney wide boys only competition which has two grades.

We anticipate entering two teams in the Under 17 comps this year.  These teams are open to both the experienced and the social player.  

North Shore Womens Hockey Association Schoolgirls Competition

This consists of a Term 2 competition, ideally suited to girls who would like to play hockey for their school in the Term 3 IGSSA competition.

The competition is very competitive and divided into 10 divisions. It is anticipated that our schoolgirl team/s will play their matches at KHC.

Teams will train on Thursday afternoons at KHC.

Our Club also enters teams in the Sunday North Shore Women's competition and this may suit girls who wish to play non-compulsory school sport in both term 2 and term 3 which clashes with junior hockey on Saturday mornings.
