ML1 GNS V Strikers
After showing their superiority against UNSW in the last round, Gordon looked to make it two from two when they faced Strikers on Sunday. In the opening exchanges GNS dominated, controlling the game in the midfield through centre half, Alyssa Healy. Despite finding clear-cut chances hard to come by GNS continued to push forward in search of the first goal.
Strong work from Claire Jones at the back of the ground turned defence into attack. Jones beat three opposition attackers before a firm hit to the right wing found Jess Langham who used her speed to eliminate a defender before passing the ball back inside to Ali Savage. Effective leading from the GNS forwards created space in the circle, a well worked move eventually finding Alice Forbes on the back post who calmly slotted the ball into the bottom corner.
